Best Weapons In Fallout New Vegas
Forum:Best weapons in Fallout: New Vegas. Lucky, The Variant of the.357 Revolver I killed about 30 deathclaws with it- Mr.GeneralPanda Ive been using the LMG for my mid-range, ranger seqeaioa(not a SMG fan) for close range and the Trail carbine(or boone with a guass rifle) for long range. Track down all of the Unique Weapons in Fallout: New Vegas. So instead of having a light machine gun you can fully customize with weapon mods you end up with a weapon that does a bit more damage than a light machine gun, has one or two mods as part of the weapon, and then cannot be modified any further.
The Gatling laser is nice when you have jury rigging and can repair it with flame throwers, arc throwers, plasma casters, incinerators, heavy incinerators. None of which are exceedingly common except in lonesome road. Or get stacks of weapon repair kits from Dead money vending machine. The tri beam laser is nice especially with a post ED-E from lonesome road +5 beam damage (both to it and the laser gatling/SPTL wood)The Gauss rifle is a toy. Sure it does alot of damage but its slow to fire/reload, good for killing the 3 card bounty members but in usual practicality I'd prefer a laser rifle and just shooting more shots, or a holo rifle.
(both upgraded)The unique plasma rifle is OKThe GRA pistols are great in the first part of the game with a damage mod in them.Novac has the Hyperbreder alpha. Which is automatic like and requires no ammo. But yeah Generally I have a tri beam if I want to kill things when they get 'close' and a scoped laser rifle with mods for sniping.
I personally prefer the holorifle with all of its mods. I tend to use it like a shotgun and hip fire when in close quarters and use like a sniper rifle when I want to quickly dispatch enemies. I tend to carry around 50 max charges cells usually 100 or so optomized cells. If I haven't done any of the DLCs then I tend to carry the reliable laser rifle especially if I made a crit build character. I usually mod it with all but the scope but since I have the Weapon mod menu mod I can add/remove it at anytime if I do decide to use it. The only ammo I usually have for the laser rifle is the optomized cells to get decent damage and not to burn out the laser rifle like max charges cells.
I enjoy using shotguns against many low-end mutants. Even cazadores take a fair bit from the Hunting Shotgun from a distance if you have the appropriate perk.I know. I have the shotgun surgeon perk (seriously, without that I wouldn't have any choice but to use slugs). With a bit of testing, I found that my shotgun (a mod added AA-12, but same principle for the vanilla ones) did consistently more damage against deathclaws with 4/0 magnum shells than with slugs. I doubt normal shells would be as good though. Still, it seems shotguns with 4/0 magnum shells are still a great weapon even against heavily armoured enemies.By the way: what exactly are the point of flechette shells? The fact that they have 5 projectiles make them inferior to slugs in pretty much every way.
Without a doubt the All American, its kinda tough to get but its defiantly worth it. As for modded weapons i love my L96, thank you Millenia!I've never found the All-American to be a strong gun. Especially for something requiring 100 skill and being so hard to get. It's basically a Ratslayer, without a silencer, with a bigger magazine, lower AP cost and higher spread. They should have given the All-American a silencer and 3 shot burst in VATS, just so it compete with things like the Gobi and COS Sniper Rifle. As for my top guns.LVL 1-15:RatslayerLVL 15+AER14 PrototypeQ-35 Matter ModulatorGobi Scout RiflePacenciaCOS Sniper RifleForgot about the AER14, i love that gun. Anyway i thought i should mention that the the reason i like the All American so much is its versatility. Its not as acurate as the ratslayer but still fairly acurate for a 5.56mm gun and while not being very powerful per shot it has a high DPS. Also i should have mentioned that i use WME so i have a silencer for itEdited by DeadlyDoughnuts, 01 September 2013 - 08:38 PM.

Though I really don't like any semi-auto weapons. I don't want to get repetitive strain injury for the best DPS.A slight change of subject: is there any point in using any shotgun rounds other than slugs? There are hardly any enemies with a DT low enough for the other ammo types to be worth it. I even tried using some 4/0 buck magnum shells, and the damage doesn't seem as high as it ought to be. What does everyone else think?I like using Coin Shot + Riot Shotgun + 'And Stay Back' many chances for the knockdown, even if you need to make all your own ammo.
Best Armor In Fallout New Vegas
Otherwise, 'slugs ahoy'Im adding another vote to Christines COS Silencer Rifle, best Rifle in vanilla/DLC's IMHO it can do everything. Its a bit of a 'hanger queen' as far as reparing it goes, but keep those repair kits handy and its golden.308 JSP makes for a very powerful tag team.45 with Silencer or A Light Shining in the Darkness (w/ WMX mods) are my 'go too' sidearms. Powerful, Improved Holdout weapons perfect for those 'touchy' areas in the game.
