- If you already played Skyrim, you'll understand that the worst thing of making and alternate character is the beginning, this mod make the start of a new character much more enjoyable without sacrificing immersion and lore, you will find many options to start your new adventure and even you can start as a vampire or necromancer, each starting point add something unique to your story and there are some race unique starting points.
- Then you can set up a second mod profile for your 'I just want to kill dudes and feel powerful for a bit' character, loaded up with all your 'power overwhelming' mods. Then, before you start Skyrim, you just select the active profile in MO, and it will load up the mods automatically. Ugh, it's just such a good tool.

'Attacked and left for dead' is my favourite, always prefer to start with nothing. The Solstheim starts can be pretty tough.
Starting as a begger in Markarth/Riften is also good, slightly easier as at least you have a bedroll allocated.I would recommend teaming the alternate start with mods like Frostfall/Campfire, Hunterborn, RND, You Hunger, etc. It makes the alternate start more rewarding if you have to worry about all that other stuff as well, rather than just using it to bypass the early stages of the game. I don't really have a favourite, i've always just gone with whichever i feel suits the RP i have in mind. My last two have been childhood friend of erik the slayer and necromancer in a secluded lair, because i wanted my playthroughs to be 'local nord dreams of joining the companions' and being eriks buddy gave me a companion and a bit more to my rp, and the other one was just because i wanted to be a necromancer. Although i wouldn't recommend that one.
Alternate Start Skyrim
It isn't fun getting out of blackreach. I love starting as a new guild member, it's the only way I ever properly roleplay.
New student the college of Winterhold has been my favourite. Another memorable one has been starting at the thalmor embassy but roleplaying as a double agent with face reconstructed by the thieve's guild. Takes a bit of imagination sometimes but it can be really rewarding. My current playthrough was starting at the college of winterhold and quickly joining the bards guild with bard mods to make that an actual profession, I'm basically roleplaying Kvothe from Kingkiller Chronicles.
Never firing an arrow, only using magic and basic swordplay, with shouts as a substitute for the magic of naming from those books, with the skill tree mod to max out speech with actual interesting powers, and my main source of income playing at inns between adventures. I'm loading up that game right now.
