Greed's Domain (AKA The Vault or the Treasure Vault) is a special dungeon area added to Reaper of Souls in Patch 2.1.It was first seen on the PTR when Patch 2.1 testing went live, and created great player excitement. I checked how many Goblins I had killed under Challenges prior to 2.1 patch and then take note of how many I killed currently and subtracted the two to work out how many I have killed after patch 2.1 which is when they introduced The Vault. I play only in Hardcore and it seems to drop far less on there than in Softcore. I have the Gem from a Greater rift (much to my displeasure as what is the point of The Vault) but I just want to chalk up a kill versus Greed. I play pretty much every day for 2 hours and more at weekends and as I say I've never seen it.I always do at least 5 bounty's a day to get once cache and always encounter about 3 or 4 goblins in Adventure Mode but nothing. Boon of the Hoarder doesn't automatically have a chance to drop off of regular Rift Guardians until a player has been in a game where a portal to the Vault was opened. It didn't always work this way, but this update was included in patch 2.1.2. Thing is though, Vault portal is very very obvious in its presentation on both map and the portal itself. Not sure how you could've missed it. Most likely scenario I could think of would be where 4 players are rushing Adventure mode on normal in Act 1 for a chance at Grandeur ring. Well, the game where the rg dropped the gem was a full time solo game with me only in it. That info is wrong.I've NEVER been in The Vault and I play solo only.I never play online with others so I've never joined a game where The Vault has been open.and I've NOT killed a goblin to spawn The Vault and NOT gone through it. Yet in 2.1.2 in my first three Greater Rifts I got the three new Legendary Gems.one of which was the Boon of the Hoarder.

How do you explain that? Yeah I had that impression too, and I don't think I would have missed the portal either, which is what that post would have implied, and the first legendary gem I got after 2.1.2 was the Hoarder gem. Which is imo a bad decision. I'll even add that whilst I power level on softcore to help others I've NEVER EVER been online in Hardcore and it is Hardcore that I have been playing for the last 3 months thus there is no way I could have ever been in an online game that had a portal open. And I would not have missed a portal to The Vault solo considering I've been trying to get in there since 2.1 was released.
