Policenauts Pc-98 Fan Translation
Policenauts is maybe the worst Kojima game. Thread starter Deleted member. The relationship between the two leads was neat, the art and the ost were on point and the fan translation was fucking amazing. The defusing sequence is incredibly great and funny. Also the soundtrack is top-tier and the PC-98 version has some of the best pixel. Policenauts (ポリスノーツ?) is a cinematic adventure game with a hard science fiction storyline, written and directed by Hideo Kojima, and published by Konami. It was initially released for the NEC PC-9821 computer platform in 1994, followed by remade versions, for the 3DO in 1995, and the PlayStation and Sega Saturn in 1996.

Many thanks to the guys that did the fan translation of the game, I really enjoyed the work. Between the heavy story, the really nicely done graphics with full animated scenes punctuating the action, the massive amount of well-done voice over recordings, and a story line that doesn't let up on the dramatics until the very end, Policenauts is easily as good of a game as Snatcher is.I'm don't think I can say whether Snatcher or Policenauts is the better game, but when they're both as great as they are, why do you need to choose? Hideo Kojima knew what he was doing here, just like always.Oh, and did you know that the VA for Meryl here is the same who does her voice in the MGS games? That, and apparently someone really loves Lethal Weapon (the movie came out a year before the original PC version of Policenauts was released) - can anyone really try to argue that the cop buddy duo isn't really supposed to be Mel Gibson and Danny Glover?:)No cheats were used during the recording of this video.NintendoComplete punches you in the face with in-depth reviews, screenshot archives, and music from classic 8-bit NES games!Visit for the latest updates!
Something surprising happened today – a has released an English patch for the Sega Saturn version of Policenauts. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, Policenauts is a graphic adventure game that follows in the footsteps of Konami’s Sega CD cult classic Snatcher. The game takes place on a space colony in the year 2013. You play as Jonathan Ingram, an astronaut with police training. During a space walk testing out a new prototype suit, John ends up drifting away into space and is presumed dead by his crew. Thanks to the cold-sleep module in the suit, though, he is found alive and well 24 years later.Jonathan returns to regular society and begins working as a private investigator in old LA. His ex-wife asks for his help with the disappearance of hew new husband. At first, he blows her off but when she is murdered after leaving his office, he becomes involved with the investigation and the hunt for the truth begins.Originally, Policenauts was announced for a North American release back in May 1994 by Konami.
A mockup cover was even produced and featured on some Saturn promotional materials included with some games. Kojima would later explain that work had begun on the localization but that developers were having issues synching the English dialogue with the cutscenes, so they abandoned the project. It sounds like a pretty weak reason, but it’s likely the only answer we will ever get about the cancellation. Now several years ago, an English translation patch was released for the PlayStation version of the game. Which was nice, but what most of us wanted was for the Sega Saturn release of the game to get the same treatment. The Sega Saturn port of Policenauts contains all of the same content as the other editions of the game, but with a number of improvements. Most notably, the anime cutscenes run at 24 frames-per-second, while it’s PlayStation counterpart chugs along at just 15. In addition, it features more dialogue and scenes, less censorship, bonus videos after the game is completed, and an alternative credits sequence.
It also features light gun support if you still have a handy Virtua Gun and old CRT TV to play it on.So to sum it up, the Sega Saturn port is essentially the definitive version of Policenauts. So it’s quite nice to finally have the ability to play it in English, even if it decades after the fact. The translation team has already made the game region free with the patch, so all you need to do is patch your game and load it up.I’ll be patching the game and taking some time on my next day off to begin working through the game.
I was a big fan of Snatcher and, with everything I’ve heard about Policenauts, I think I’ll possibly love this one even more.
