Diablo 2 Online Servers
Hello, This is one of the most underated games of all time! Mutli-player is great on this game,I'm just here to explain how to play with your friends online.I don't own this game on Steam, i have it on DVD but it should be the same, First you want to install the game and besure the game is upto date with the ice and blood expansion.Version 2.65.x. All your friends must also have the SAME version as you, or you will not find each other games.I highly recommend the Community patch, You can read what it contains and download it here:Since the Multi-player servers for Sacred 2 closed down a few years ago the only way to play is through LAN, You can play over the internet with your friends over a virtual LAN, You may of heard of Hamachi and tuungle. I recommend tuungle because you're not limited to how many clients you can have and its super easy to use. When you've installed Tuungle, find the Sacred 2 Lobby and besure everyone who you want to play with is also in there.Start the game up and then go into Multiplayer Menu and then LAN.You can now make a Mutiplayer server, No ports are needed to be added, just make sure you press Allow if windows firewall asks you, if you want to allow. When people search for your server they need to go into the LAN server list and Click at the top-left 'Show all servers' or else they will not see your server.Thats it!
Have fun.-Dedicated Server:If you want to keep your campaign world going, or set a PVP server up without having to have your character always in the game you can set up a dedicated server like this:Goto your Sacred 2 folder 'Sacred 2 Goldsystem'Right-click and press New, Create a New text document.Put these details inside the text document:s2gs.exe /high -connmode=lan -diff=silver -numplayers=16 -name='My Server Name' -password=CHANGEME -description='This is my Server and i need to change this.' Then save the document as Sacred2Dedicated.batand run the bat file you just created, You will see a black box. That is the server. It must also be behind the Virtual LAN. You can check the commandlines in the text document you just saved to change server name and type of server. That's all for that, More dedicated command lines here:-diff= - set game difficulty:bronze - bronze difficulty mode (default)silver - silver difficulty modegold - gold difficulty modeplatin - platin difficulty modeniob - niob difficulty mode-mode= - set game mode:hardcore - hardcore modesoftcore - softcore mode (default)-name= - set server name-description= - set server description-numplayers= - set max. Num of players in session (campaign=5 players, other modes=16 players)-port= - set fixed game TCP/IP port to (1024.32767)-type= - set game type:campaign - campaign mode (default)free - free game modepvp - playerkiller mode. By 'only one player can take the quest' do you mean that, by exemple, I play coop with a friend, I take a quest and he can't have it?
Or just me the host can interact with the NPC to take it for US?Is there a way to know your game version? Can I play with a friend who bought it on greenman gaming (gold edition, GOG installer I think!)?One last question! What do you mean OP by 'If you want to keep your campaign world going'? If we use Tunngle, the world will reset everytime we play?! Should we start with a dedicated right away and start it everytime we play?I guess we'll see tonight me and my friend will give all this a try, I hope it will be a smooth process and we can play all night.Update: I guess we are stuck with Hamachi, can't register on Tunngle. #10123 The administrator is currently not accepting new membership registrations.Update 2: we abandonned, thanks anyway. Questing:As far as questing goes, I run a dedicated server for a couple of friends, We set it to to campaign, If someone picks a Side quest up everyone on the server gets that quest, and everyone gets the EXP when it's handed in, even if they are not near.
There is more quests than needed so we never end up doing them all, If the server resets all the side quests reset and we can pick them up again. As for the Orange/Story line quest we've not done that yet. We kinda just left it because i think that is server based and i'm not sure, Or its character based and the game take this information from the first person to join the server. We've yet to look into that and not noticed anyone missing it.If you're worried about losing story progress on Single-Player i recommend having a separate Multi-player Character. I've no idea if Multi-player affects Single-Player though. We did however notice, I really just forgot this, That Campaign of Light and Darkness characters can't play together.
So that's important you both choose the correct one. If a player with light joins a dedicated server first, Non from the 'Dark Side' can join that dedicated server till it's empty.Version:I'm not sure if a 2.56.1 and 2.56.2 players can play together, It only fixes a bug to do with the chat i think. I recommend using community patch this 'may' fix any mismatches. It might say in the 'Readme.txt' in 'Sacred 2 Gold' folder what version you're on.Tuungle:Try this, it seems to work if you enter the link this way:'This may change in the future, but right now if you hit register on their website it does not let you.' Thanks Ricky, very appreciated.
We finally played another game coop but will try with Tunngle and his game patched to 2.65.2.Update: We FINALLY got it. He was on 2.65.1 and me 2.65.2 with both community patch so I confirm this last chat fix patch does not interfere with multiplayer compatibility. We had to virtual port forwards our routers to 11155 and use that port in game (on Tunngle you have a little happy green face on the bottom right corner of the app when your port forwarding is ok).Anyway, after 5 hours of trying things, we played 2 minutes. Going to bed.
Diablo 2 Private Server List
Greetings Adventurer,It's time to hone the edge of your axe, summon fresh skeletons, and repair your staff - Season 22 is coming Friday, June 15th at 5:00PM PST!We hope you're as excited as we are to bolt out of the Rogue Encampment in less than two weeks! We'll see you in a new ladder season soon.Cheers,- Diablo Community TeamSo the ladder reset for Diablo 2 is coming out in two Fridays (Saturdays, for you European folk). Is anyone going to be running during the reset? If so, put down your server and intended class! If there are enough people interested, we could set up a discord or some such.I'll be playing on E/L/SC, probably a blizz sorc (although I may actually be traveling that weekend.oops!). I spend anywhere from 5-30 hours to calculate my build in full detail and then I'll need another 100-1000 hours to actually reach my goal. When I finally reach my goal I feel fulfillment for maybe 5 minutes? That simply doesn't justify wasting all that time. I can get similar fulfillment out of playing 1-3 hours of BW. This gets much slower after some point obviously, thats when i switch to a new build. One of my longest playthroughs was on a private server and i had to find almost every single rune i needed and i am still burned out from that:DIs level 20 dueling not a thing any more? I know it used to be freaking awesome back in the day, you made your char really quickly but had to find the gear for them (shaftstop and rockstopper primarily) with others and needed someone to run you through all difficulties for extra stats, skill points and resists without going over level 20.Was fun and the builds were cool and not something you'd use on a regular char. And pretty sure that alone would get you above 20 if done on all difficulties. On June 07 2018 02:26 Isualin wrote:I don't get much fulfillment after i reach my full build as well. Maybe this was a thing before LoD? #12 Last time I played D2 I was bothered by the lack of difficulty when you have reached a high level and own a lot of near high end stuff (even on hardcore). After a month or two of ladder there are a lot of pretty much OP items around and dealing with most of the monsters in the game in hell difficulty is too easy, so it seems you're stuck trying to go for the very hardest few things with the most OP gear that you need for another challenge. Notably very few characters die anymore in the hardcore ladder then.I had in mind playing a less strong character after a new ladder starts with reset economy. Sorc based on enchant (europe ladder hardcore).

Might do that after June 15, thx for the information because, even on arreat summit they don't really tell when will be next ladder reset. I can get similar fulfillment out of playing 1-3 hours of BW.Funnily this fulfillment vs time wasted thing is why I stopped playing starcraft D. When I finally reach my goal I feel fulfillment for maybe 5 minutes? That simply doesn't justify wasting all that time. I can get similar fulfillment out of playing 1-3 hours of BW.It's about the journey. Nothing you can do in this game (or pretty much any other) can justify playing it for a thousand hours (unless it's your job). The moments when you find another item for your build in Diablo or maybe winning a hardfought match in Starcraft is the reason you actually play. The enjoyment comes from the journey.
The reason you feel at a loss in the end is because you already fulfilled your goal and there is nothing left to do.
